Linked by their past experiences together at Cornell and Harvard Universities, violinist Joseph Lin, cellist Raman Ramakrishnan, and pianist Daniel Anastasio reunite for their inaugural concert on the San Antonio Chamber Music Society stage. Lin, a virtuoso in his own right, is a 1996 Concert Artists Guild winner and the 2001 first-prize winner of the Michael Hill International Violin competition. After teaching at Cornell University, he became the first violinist of the Juilliard String Quartet between 2011-2018. He currently teaches at The Juilliard School. A renowned chamber musician, Ramakrishnan was the cellist of the award-winning Horszowski Trio and internationally acclaimed Daedalus Quartet. He is a frequent guest at the top music festivals in the country and teaches cello and chamber music at the Bard Conservatory of Music. Praised by the New York Times for his “crisp performance” of a “devilish showpiece,” Daniel Anastasio is the local San Antonian of the group. The Artistic Director of several chamber music groups including Agarita and Unheard-of//Ensemble, Anastasio performs regularly throughout the country and serves on the San Antonio College faculty. The group is brought together by a common intellectual curiosity, a desire to imbue works of the past with a fresh energy and interpretation, and an ethic towards unlocking the most profound, beautiful secrets inside the repertoire.
