Teaching Philosophy:

All human beings deserves the opportunity to find their own expressive voice and nurture it. The adventure of uncovering and encouraging that voice comes with profound individual challenges, technical and psychological. My philosophy of teaching embraces the individual differences between learners, and aims at a personalized and open method. For dedicated students, my goal is to provide them with the confidence they need to project their own ideas clearly and powerfully. I want to eliminate any technical or psychological obstructions that thwart expression – to provide students with a stalwart foundation and confidence at the keyboard, so that their musical expression can bloom through the instrument easily and directly.

Through my videos, I try to offer a little insight into the methods and work of a pianist who is constantly interpreting, developing, and discovering. This field is infinite — the amount of brilliant music, the ways to understand and interpret, the problems to solve, the performative challenges — I just hope to give some companionship for a fellow musician trying to find footing (and a few laughs) in an overwhelming terrain.
